About

NaranjaI am Naranja living in a small village in the Malaga region in Andalucia Southern Spain. I live with my son of 10 months, known as El Rubio in my blog, and my partner whom I haven’t yet found a suitable name for. Maybe it could be just Hombre? That means man and that it was my niece called him last time we saw her. There was Naranja, El Rubio and then just The Man. Quite cute and definitely better than if she had called him a woman.

Oh..and the dogs and the cat. So full house.

I really like good cakes from the bakery and whilst I was pregnant I even went as far as dreaming about cakes for several nights, so in that respect it doesn’t make sense to be living in Spain. Because they really cannot make good cakes. They always look the part, but once you have a bit they are margarine tasting and I would go to the extend of calling them vulgar. So unfortunately I will often have to stick with the dreaming about cakes, as time has become a precious commodity since the arrival of El Rubio so my cake baking has gone down in the drain.

And now I have to go, because El Rubio is waking up, but I will try to come back and write a bit more very soon.

Back again and ready to reveal more…

Some things about me and some things in general:

  • I am currently considering getting a fringe for the first time in…hmm about 6 years, but since it is curly/frizzy I am afraid my fringe will just be little curly wurlies and look awful.
  • I like food. And I think about food a lot.
  • I looove supermarkets. Mostly supermarkets abroad when all the packaging is different and interesting with odd little retro packaging.
  • A day without a list is a fay without a twist (?! ¿Que?) I know…lousy little rime. But I believe creating lists are the way forward to a better life.
  • If I read a book, I get slightly obsessed and don’t want to do anything else but read until I am finished with the book. Because I don’t have time for this sort of behaviour I have only read one book since the arrival of the little one.
  • There is nothing wrong in eating leftovers for breakfast
  • Finnish people drink vodka and carry knives. They also have a very dark and odd sense of humour and mostly have white hair. And no, Santa Claus is not from Lapland/Finland, he is from Greenland! Just get it right, will you.
  • I need some unexpected presents soon. Please, buy me something from my soon to come Amazon list. Shopping here is shit and I don’t have any money so I am seriously deprived.
